GFL – Page 0005
Grouping For Looks is a page-by-page retelling of the Looking For Group saga through the lens of a mirror universe where Cale is a goateed tyrant and Richard is a holy soul trying to set him on a good path.
INT. TAVERN – DAY
Richard sits with a drink in one hand and a bag of Cale in the other. The thugs surround him, hanging on his every word. Benny cautiously takes in the peaceful scene, arms crossed either incredulously or covering nippleage. It doesn’t look that cold in the tavern, but Benny is not wearing much. Like, you’d have to add material to her top to get a bra.
RICHARD
…and that’s why violence is never the answer.
BENNY
No, but it stops all of the questions.
Cale’s bag sits behind a thug who, and I can’t stress this enough, is not human. The thug happens to be making eye contact with Benny.
CALE
Like whether you were conceived by a frog, or if your mother had a thing for reptiles?
Benny’s eyes flare red at the confused thug.
Richard smirks at the bag with the superiority of a high ranking nun.
RICHARD
The more you sin, the more satisfying your redemption will be…
A bloody GLUK seals the thug’s fate.
RICHARD
…eventually.
Benny waltzes over to the bar, having beat a bunch of men in single combat even though the comic this is based on is 10+ years old and some part of the Internet wants to convince you that is a new thing being pushed by special interest groups and is political correctness gone mad.
The BARKEEP looks her way.
BARKEEP
Another drink, Bloodmaiden?
BENNY
Please.
RICHARD
Bloodmaiden… How darkly ominous and yet vividly visual.
CALE
She’s a bloodmaiden? They’re healers!
Richard walks over to a girl minding her own business in a bar, as you do.
RICHARD
M’lady.
BENNY
My price is 1000 gold, no guarantees, and no questions asked.
RICHARD
What is this, some kind of local trouble?
Benny glares at him.
RICHARD
That was a questions, wasn’t it?
BENNY
You get a discount because of all the spell components on hand.
Richard opens Cale’s dust sack.
RICHARD
My gut tells me we shouldn’t trust her with this or any task…
CALE
My gut is the one on the line, and it’s dust in a bag so it outranks yours. My gut says go for it!

For the LFG Superfan
If you appreciate GFL, you must be extremely familiar with Looking For Group. Ask yourself, do you have anything that tells the world “I’ve been reading LFG long enough to follow GFL”? If not, consider An Old Doubt.
This limited run framed stretched canvas piece is up there with The Mandalorian for throwbacks to the glory days of 70s and 80s space operas. And it’s going for the ridiculously low price of $39.95. It is one of the deepest discounted items of the Blind Ferret Shop blowout.
