Grouping For Looks is a page-by-page retelling of the Looking For Group saga through the lens of a mirror universe where Cale is a goateed tyrant and Richard is a holy soul trying to set him on a good path.

INT. MOUNTAIN – MECHASTONE – DAY

The group overlooks a vast, mechanized underground city. A waterfall filters through a watermill and down into a mysterious glowing void. Cale, Benny, even Krunch look upon its grandeur in awe.

RICHARD
Where do we report the altercation with the guard?

Cale, Benny, and Krunch look upon Richard in awe.

RICHARD
No no no, not to surrender. To plead our case! 

Richard scans the locale until he spots a reception desk, operated by a lone, startled  gnome standing before a gong. Richard saunters over

RICHARD
Hello, I’d like to report a… is it murder when a guard dies in the line of duty?

The gnome at the desk frantically hoists a giant drumstick and clangs the gong.

RICHARD
I can see how that didn’t leave the best first impression. 

KRUNCH
Prepare for battle.

Behind him, the group draws arms as gnome soldiers swarm them. Including a gnome with sais? What’s his deal? 

RICHARD
Clearly, I could have made a better first impression. I apologize for my word choice. 

The clerical gnome peaks out from under his desk.

RICHARD
You see, we did kill a gnome guard-

Blood spatters on the side of Richard’s hood. 

RICHARD
Multiple gnome guards at this point.

The gnome flees from his desk on tiny little legs. 

RICHARD
He runs like a child. 

More arrows than you would expect to fit on that little body skewer the defenseless gnome, dropping him instantly as streaks of blood gushing from all of his wounds form a crimson silhouette that bears a reasonable resemblance to its former body before it, like the gnome, splatters on the floor. 

Cale leans into Richard’s personal space. 

CALE
He ran like a child. 

Richard scowls at his evil associate. 

CALE
You’re very bad at word choice today. 

Cale smirks as he fires off a few more arrows, killing a few more child-like gnomes.
