Bad Kiwis and Good Comments
If I’m being honest, loyal readers, I’m disappointed in the kiwis I just had. They were a bit tart. Kiwis take so much more effort than most fruit, I’m extra sad when they’re disappointing.
Luckily, that is the opposite of how I feel about last weekend’s GenCon! All our hard work paid off, with the debut of several new LFG game products (watch for them to hit the store in the next month), and a lot of love for the existing LFG game products. Orphans & Ashes in particular killed it this year. If you are one of the many fans who picked up a copy at the booth, I encourage you to visit the Orphans & Ashes Board Game Geek page and rate it. Also, we’re working out expansions, so let us know what you would like added to the game in the comments below.
The blog’s been busy with convention and product announcements, so I’ll be catching up on your comments in the coming weeks, starting with the top comments for the end of July 2016.

“He saw a child being an archmage, a wizard being made of butts and Richard told him 3 different backstories and he once saw that Richard was never really dead on page 422, it stands to reason he is surprised the truth isn’t stupider
Hell he got teabagged by his panther once and yet she turned to never have a teabag”

Soooo, which wrist is best to check for a pulse on with these guys? The wrist wrists or the neck wrist?
David Rose
From the looks of them, instead of checking for a pulse, you could just talk to the hand.

Too bad that lesson wasn’t Handed down to later generations.

This one really resonates with me. Struggled this summer to finish up Agent Carter, Lucifer and Shanarra Chronicles. Still have most of Supergirl and Galavant on the DVR. Weekends I’m like “well, I should watch a couple of those to get through them…”

The question that we all mustache this moment.

Ok… Here goes Theory Time!
So, as some has said below I believe this is heading in the direction of finding out why Richard’s father sacrificed him. From what Regyna is saying, (though I find this odd because if this is Richard’s memory being kept on a replay how would he know what she is doing…?) it seems as though someone innocent is needed to be sacrificed in the sarcophagus in order to become the enemy of Cale to play into the Archmage’s plot. (as the Archmage mentioned on Page 784) to give him some sort of push to form Kethencia under to unify the nation to protect itself from a main enemy (possibly where he was going with that). But what if Richard was at one time the most innocent person that the Archmage could find? If that is the case, then perhaps the requirements for turning someone into an undead warlock is to make them either lose their attributed innocence or make them undergo eternal punishment. So if we go off that, forcing Richard to gain power by killing innocents would be the greatest form of going against his nature that someone could devise, and since he has no recollection or memories of his past, the only thing he can live from is the base desire to maintain his power as the curse dictates. On Page 105, Richard even says that his power is who he is, meaning of course that his curse has such an influence over him before his memories return that he is unable to know even his base traits or reasons for doing anything other than “I. Like. To. Kill. Things.” to meet the power requirement which we find out is later not his nature at all when he tells Hctib on Page 534 that the price to pay was becoming too great.
So to summarize my rambling… I think this is heading in the direction of finding out that Richard was in fact the most innocent person at one time, and was cursed to be the bane of innocence by killing all of what he used to personify to maintain a power he thought was his personality through the curse of not knowing who he is and the reason he stayed with Cale is not because Cale was changing him through his influence, but rather letting Richard get back to who he once was or as close as he is able to get.

For a while there things were getting pretty tents.

Is it just me, or is that “handshake” two “rights”?
Oh, wait. They wouldn’t do a “”head shake””, so I guess it’s compatible.
I wonder how much negotiation it took to get the hand used for that exchange to be negotiated?
Sensei Le Roof
And all the people who already used up all their relevant puns are unsure how to handle things now.

Yes that was frustrating. I see what you did there. I spent a couple of minutes trying to spot minor changes in the panels

Don’t worry, it’s only worrying when you start getting more answers than questions. Then things REALLY get weird. Avocado. Plumbing. The Day Star. Dead Lift.

Sinister.
I have a lot of feelings about the comments from this two week period, so I’m just going to lightning round them:
- The Dnah story arc is still going strong, as are the hand-related puns in the comments. Just when I think there’s no pun left to be made, someone like Boris “BoroFreak” Grigorov throws a 1-2 punch like his comment from part 21.
- A lot of prolific commenters seem to think there’s an apostrophe in Dnah’s name (i.e. “D’Nah”). For the most part, there isn’t, but am I forgetting some time when there was?
- What am I gonna do with the rest of those kiwis? I bought, like, a dozen.
- I’m loving the Richard backstory theories that have been popping up since page 1000. Catastrophic Mastermind has a particularly insightful one that got me pretty excited.
Until next time, be excellent to each other!
