Friday Larchive – MRVLCATS

Fridays, we open the Larchives, Lar’s extensive archive of art work oddities, and share a few pieces. Sometimes there will be a theme, or a reason behind the choices. Other times there will be none.

Since I’ve got The Defenders on my mind, I thought I’d check to see if Lar had ever done artwork of the four characters from the Marvel Netflix series. Instead of searching through folders and websites, I took a shot and Googled Lar DeSouza Daredevil.

And the cats came back.

Cats?

In 2010, Lar participated in #mrvlcats. Artists were invited to interpret Marvel heroes and villains as cats and share them using the hashtag. Marvel and geek culture websites like Agent M Loves Tacos and The Mary Sue shared articles about it, including art by Lar and other talented artists who loved Marvel, cats, and mashing up Marvel and cats.

It was a fun, brief creative collaboration across social media, and then we all moved on.

And now, 10 years later, enjoy these obscure pieces of Lar DeSouza art that you probably never knew existed.
