Friday Lart – Wild They Last

Fridays, we open the Larchives, Lar’s extensive archive of art work oddities, and share a few pieces.

Earlier this week, I saw someone ask Lar on Facebook if the Where The Wild Things avatars are still available. Lar said yes. If that person asked today, Lar’s answer would still be yes. However! If they ask tomorrow? The answer will be no! Because today is the last day you can go Where The Wild Things Are.

If you’re tempted but on the fence, don’t forget that this is also for a good cause. You can get an original avatar illustrated by our own Lar DeSouza inspired by Where The Wild Things Are in exchange for a donation to the DeSouzas’ 2023 MS Society fundraising efforts.

Here’s How:

From now until February 3rd, 2023, donate $50, plus $50 for every additional face in the picture, to the MS Society and Lar will make you a caricature avatar in the style of your choice.

Here’s what you need to do:

• Go here.
• Donate $50 or more for an avatar, plus $50 for every extra face.
• Email your donation confirmation to [email protected] along with a current selfie and any requests, including what theme you’d like.
• Lar will email you a high res JPEG to print and a low res jpeg for social media.

Act now! You have to donate by the end of the day (today, February 3rd) to get an avatar in the style of Maurice Sendak’s Where The Wild Things Are.
