Grouping For Looks is a page-by-page retelling of the Looking For Group saga through the lens of a mirror universe where Cale is a goateed tyrant and Richard is a holy soul trying to set him on a good path.

EXT. BATTLEFIELD – DAY

Although Cale, Richard, Benny, Krunch, and Sooba sight shoulder to shoulder, the combined might of the gnomes and trolls has begun to overwhelm them. 

CALE
They’re working together. This was all a ruse!

RICHARD
No one would plan massive deaths on both sides just to turn against us as a twist? 

CALE
I mean…

RICHARD
Almost no one. 

CALE
I’m just saying, it depends on the twist. 

TIM
There! The ones who killed Lord Stoll!

Richard clutches his pearls at the sight of Tim and Styx pointing in his direction. 

CALE
Oh, right. Bee tee dubs, we killed the Troll Lord. 

RICHARD
Then who would you think is behind the ruse? 

Cale scowls at Richard and his logic. Then, as a shadow behind the undead redeemer overtakes him, Cale looks past and above Richard. 

Richard turns around and sees a giant mechanical gnome, piloted by Chief Engineer Toyk.

TOYK
You foolish wanderers fell for it! You fell for it all! Now, I rule the combined gnoll-troll alliance! And soon, I will control the world! 

Cale sideyes Richard, who shrugs.

RICHARD
Apparently I underestimated the value of a twist. 

The gnomes, lead by Toyk, and the trolls, spearheaded by Tim, close in on the group. 

TIM
For the lord, attack!!!

Tim, Styx, and the remaining trolls charge forward. They charge right past Cale, Richard, et al, and into the gnome lines, weapons swinging. Tim personally tackles Toyk’s mechagnome. 

RICHARD
What a twist!
