EXT. THE RIDD OCEAN – THE FATHER’S BONES –  DAY

Richard lies flat on his back on the deck of The Father’s Bones. Cale pokes him in the eye.

CALE
I’ll toss him overboard. 

Benny steps between the edge of the boat and Cale, who’s already hoisted up Richard on his shirtless shoulder and started pectorially striding towards the water. 

BENNY
What? Why?

CALE
He’s dead… er. Don’t want his corpse stinking up the ship, and it’s not like we can eat him. 

BENNY
He’s not dead. He’s just tapped. He needs to rest to regain his magic. 

CALE
He seemed fine when Krunch threw him in the water. 

KRUNCH
Yes, but getting him back on the boat was-

Krunch reflects on what happened. 

Cut to:

EXT. THE RIDD OCEAN – THE FATHER’S BONES –  EARLIER

A kraken holds Richard high in the air away from a turtle the size of the ship. The kaiju fight over who gets to eat Richard while he blasts them both with powerful magic. 

KRUNCH
Why are you fighting them? You summoned them!

RICHARD
The kraken came when I called it, and that’s the last it listened to me. 

KRUNCH
Then why did you summon the turtle?

RICHARD
To fight the kraken!

Cut to:

EXT. THE RIDD OCEAN – THE FATHER’S BONES –  DAY

Krunch pinches the bridge of his nose to deal with the stress of the memory. 

KRUNCH
-a fiasco. 

Cale dumps Richard’s unconscious body back onto the deck. He sneers at Richard’s still, emotionless expression. 

CALE
How long will he be like this?

BENNY
Probably a day. 

KRUNCH
Hopefully he’s back by the time we hit land in a day or two. 

CALE
I’ll take any break I can get from his moral superiority. To evil!

Time passes. Krunch, Benny, and Cale shift in their spot. Krunch twiddles his thumbs. Benny scratches a phantom itch. 

CALE
Y’all want to torture someone?

BENNY
Heck yeah!

KRUNCH
I think they’re torturing prisoners below deck as we speak!
