EXT. THE CITY OF KETHENECIA – ARCHWAY OF THE GOLDEN STATUE – DAY

Cale, Benny, Crunch, and Tavor look upon the arch, aglow with the blue light of magical energy pulsating from their undead companion. 

CALE
I have never seen such power. 

KRUNCH
The warlock is wavering. 

TAVOR
Can he hold on?

BENNY
Can “it” hold on.

Krunch, Tavor, and even Cale glare at Benny with a mix of shock and disgust. 

CALE
Whoa. 

KRUNCH
Not cool, child. 

BENNY
What?

TAVOR
Gender identity may be a newly spotlighted issue, but even the most basic social awareness should tell you that “it” as a pronoun is incredibly disrespectful. 

BENNY
Gender identity?

CALE
I may not like Richard one bit, but if he identifies as male, he’s a he in my book. 

Richard winces and screams.

RICHARD
Folx!

The four turn and look at Richard, who spasms with energy pulses through his body. 

RICHARD
Benny called me “it” because I’m undead. Not because of my gender. 

BENNY
Exactly!

RICHARD
She wasn’t being transphobic, she was being racist.

BENNY
See, I was being-

It dawns on Benny mid-agreement that she doesn’t know if she agrees with Richard. 

CALE
How’s the portal coming?

RICHARD
Any minute now…
